Responding with Respect Public Course This course, given by the Canadian Mental Health Association Vancouver-Burnaby Branch, is intended for people supporting the public, family and friends, to better understand and deal with people having mental illness. The Mental Illness First Aid Course teaches you how to recognize symptoms of a mental illness, respond with respect and refer people to appropriate resources. This 16-hour course is based on the concept of First Aid courses for physical emergencies. The basic idea for first aid is to train the general public in first response procedures in order to reduce harm and to save lives in those who are living with an untreated mental illness. Dates and Times: Saturday, November 8 & Sunday, November 9, 2008 Location: St. John's Ambulance Fee: $150 + GST for members of the public Contact for registration: Jaki Please check our Course Calendar for upcoming courses too! |
